Is this sentence grammatically correct: Von diesem ersten Eindruck sieht es aus, als sei ihre Beziehung noch die von der Mutter und dem Kind? I've seen that kind of subjunctive construction in German novels, but it's not one I've been taught in lessons and I want to be sure I'm using it correctly.
