French question: "plan foireux"

Hi, I have a question about a phrase in French. What does “plan foireux” mean? My dictionary says "foireux" is scared/afraid but I can’t see that “a scared plan” makes any sense.

Here’s some context: Maya’s friend Sylvie asks her if she has heard from her boyfriend recently. Sylvie knows that the boyfriend got married a couple days ago but Maya, who has no idea he was engaged, says that he has just been too tired lately to call her.

« - Pourqoi toi, tu ne lui téléphones pas ?
- Ben, tu sais...
