Grammatically Incorrect?

Is "they did not die for nothing" grammatically incorrect? Bill O'Reilly called out Madonna tonight for not using proper grammar when saying the same during a recent concert in D.C. However, I'm not quite sure it is, since it is negating the set phrase "die for nothing" and not using a double negative as an intensifier of a negative statement.

Am I wrong?
