hello and question

Hi guys, I'm planning to get my certification in ESOL and teach in the US, but also getting ready to teach abroad for a brief internship.

Here's a good question one of my former students asked me.

If somebody says "aren't you wonderful" what would the reply be like, grammatically? Yes I
am wonderful? No I am wonderful? My gut tells me "Yes i am wonderful."
but when you break it down, isn't the question asking "are you not
wonderful?" So "No, i am wonderful" makes sense doesn't it?

A little confusing!
