*asks question*

Does anyone have a good term in English or any other language for the practice of enclosing actions between asterisks, as is commonly done online contexts? In German, I would call it an Erikativ, but I don't even know where to look to find an English equivalent.

Examples: *headdesk* *stabsself* *vorneidplatz* *semueredevergüenza*
