Um, not sure this is the right community, but it definitely is the most appropriate I know.
I'm struggling through some 15 century texts and just totally at a loss with a few things.


1. This lettre was brought to the Meyr [of Coventry], the xix. day of Feverer, late in the evenyng a^o. ix^o.
Wild guess is, at 9 PM, but I have no clue what a^o. stands for.


2. (one of the Paston Letters) Signed, in place of a name, thus—"for trowyth"
Troughs? Travis? "Truth" is the only variant that makes some sense, but I still can't quite see what it means. "The above is true and valid"?
