  • Mood:

Nudge, as in "Stop being such a nudge!"

Strange question.

I've always heard the term "nudge", pronounced something like "neudge", used to describe children or pets who are being irritating in their attempts to get attention. I'm not even sure I have the word spelled correctly.

Has anyone else on here heard this term used? I thought perhaps it was just my mom who coined this term, but my husband has heard it from his mom and aunt as well. The only history our two families have in common is colonial American (his was in Virginia/Maryland; mine in Connecticut and Massachusetts).

Google didn't seem to yield any insights, so I thought I'd ask you guys!
