Translation into German Please?
.
Hi, would some kind soul be able to translate the following for me? (I'm looking more for saying the right kind of thing than a literal translation). The addressee's English is reasonably good, but as he's not well I thought it would be a nice touch to save him the trouble of translation. I have written in German before, but this is something I need to get off quickly. Many thanks.
In case it makes a difference, the addressee is a middle-aged male, slightly older than me. He is very senior in his organisation in Germany but I don't know him via business; I know him and his adult daughter as social equals from various holidays in England over the years. (In other words, I'm fairly sure he wouldn't mind "du", but I don't know all the nuances.)
Dear xxxxx,
Anne has just told me about your fall; I'm so sorry to hear you've injured yourself, and that you won't be coming to < the event > this year. We will miss you very much, and I hope you'll be able to come back next year. If you have time, we'd love to hear how you're getting on. Please give our love to < xxxxx (daughter) >
Take care,
