You can listen to the song here:
(EDITED to add the correct link; sorry if anyone tried to listen to it on the non-functional link earlier!)
There's an English translation given in the CD booklet, but I'd like to know the original lyrics.
Thank you, Kabunian, for blessing me.
Thank you for my father,
Thank you for my mother,
for giving me birth into this troubled world,
nevertheless, thank you.
I give thanks to everything
that I can perceive.
Thank you for the bright sun
for bringing her radiance
from morning till dawn.
I thank you for the moon
for giving illumination during the night.
Thank you for the stars,
for letting me watch them in the deep of the night.
I thank you for the cool and fresh rain
for watering the trees in the pristine forests,
I thank you for the gushing and soothing wind
for blowing away my sweat.
Thank you for your patience and magnanimity
for my dear brethren,
Thank you for your great wisdom to humanity,
My lord, Kabunian!
I can pick out basic nouns that have close Tagalog cognates (bulan/moon, udan/rain, angin/wind), and my mom can pick out some of the verbs, but reconstructing the actual sentences is beyond our capabilities.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!!
