The Djao'Mor'Terra Collective

Origin/meaning of a word: "Vecerti."

I have a species of energy beings, the Vecerti, in my fantasy writing that I know I got the name from some other language. For a long time I thought it was Latin, as I remember reading it from one of Dad's Latin dictionaries, but I can never find it in Latin dictionaries. It just occurred to me that one of Dad's dictionaries had not just Latin but also a bunch of other languages, too, so it could be from one of those. The memory I have also insists the word (vecerti) means "power" or something similar, but given my age at the time, I might have things completely wrong.

I tried Googling it, and I get several different languages; not even sure which ones. One looked like Czech, so I tried that on a translation site, and it didn't seem to be right. None of the pages I find on Google are even in English, let alone being a usable definition.

This has been bugging me for years, so I would be very thankful to anyone who could help me out on this.

Also, I'd like to note that while I didn't join just for this; I, too, love languages. I wish I could learn more than a handful of words in another language, but I seem to have difficulty learning new languages.
