French verb conjugation

I'm trying to read the headlines of Le Monde and I came across this: "Alliot-Marie auditionnée par l'Assemblée nationale sur la crise tunisienne".

As far as I understand, "auditionée" is in passé composé. My question is: isn't the auxilliary verb (a) missing? Or is the auxilliary verb only used when passé composé is used as present perfect rather than past simple? Or is it implied (omitted), and if so, is it common?
