The cultural genome: Google Books reveals traces of fame, censorship and changing languages

This is just awesome (free data!). Google has been scanning books into digital format, and some researchers have been analyzing the words from the scanned books. Millions of books from as far back as 1500. Seven languages. Billions of words. *drool*
