I've come across two examples of the preposition "mit" being used in German for reasons I can't make out.

1. Sprachrichtigkeit geht in die Benotung mit ein.
2. Nicht-deutschsprachige Bewerber geben bitte ihre Muttersprache mit an

The verbs here are eingehen and angeben, so why do you have to add "mit"? Couldn't you just say "Sprachrichtigkeit geht in die Bonotung ein."?
