Pacific Northwest dialect spoken here
At the following link I found an extract of a radio show talking about the English variety of the Pacific Northwest in the United States. I found it fascinating, especially regarding the use of 'creaky voice'. I've heard this kind of phonation quality before in many American women.

EDIT: Some linguaphiles have attested to having heard 'creaky voice' in this area and beyond. To what extent have you found that this phenomenon is more prevalent among women than men?
