Icelandic Questions

So, after years of listening to Icelandic musicians, I think it's time I actually learn it properly. When I listen, I can figure out the gist of the language, but that isn't really enough. What are the best sort of courses to learn it online/DVD/etc? Or is there anything near NJ?

As well, is there an easy way to tell whether a word is feminine, masculine, or neut? I was curious about that in relation to some nouns and song titles, such as "Hafsól."
