Learning French from podcasts.

My friends are learning French. They're just doing a very basic introductory conversational French class, so they can communicate a little bit on holiday.

The teacher suggested that they should get used to the French accent by listening to some French programs, preferably something conversational. My friends think that something like a news program would be good.

Now here's the question. One of my friends had an iPod touch so they can download mp3s onto their PC and across to their iPod touch (using iTunes) then listen to them while out walking. It seems like an excellent way to learn a language.

I know in England there are lots of podcasts available for download, e.g. on the BBC news site, etc.

There must be lots of equivalent FREE podcasts available in French, maybe from French news sites, etc.

Does anyone have some pointers to useful sites?
