Random question. Is the Chagossian creole French-based? Wikipedia tells me it's French-based, but I clearly remember reading somewhere a few years ago that it's English-based. Does anybody know?

In fact, any information about Chagossian creole is welcome - just to satisfy my random spark of curiosity.
