My Buddhist group has a new resident teacher, who speaks little English but is eager to learn in order to begin teaching. His main language is Tibetan, but he speaks Hindi and some Russian. His English is currently at the survivor level--directions, simple requests, etc.

In the past, resident teachers have tried the ESL classes in town, but have been frustrated by the atmosphere in the classes and their own needs to learn a more specialized vocabulary. I and some other members have some experience and training in teaching ESL and can work with him, but need recommendations for books to use. Can any one suggest a good basic reading and grammar book, and also a Tibetan-English dictionary that focuses on Dharma terms (we have some general dictionaries).

Thanks for any suggestions for books and/or online materials or audio materials.
