  • Mood:

translation and self-teaching

Hi people. I come with a couple of requests I'm hoping you can help me with. Request one would be a translation, and request two would be some suggestions.

I know veni, vidi, vici means "I came, I saw, I conquered" and I want something similar to that, but instead of conquered, I'm looking for "listened". What would that be?

On to the suggestions. I'm looking to learn German, but where I'll be I won't have access to a proper teacher, so I'm looking to self-teach. I asked some time back about ipod/iphone apps and never really got a response, but now I'm asking for books as well as podcasts applications and music. What do you suggest? Heavier suggestions on podcasts and books, please.
