Pronunciation of names

I need some help with the pronunciation of some names. Hope you can offer some suggestions! I've grouped the names by language/nationality of the individual or location of the place. It's fine if you don't know who the person is -- I'll take suggestions based on how particular languages are pronounced. Of course if you DO know the person (or place, in a couple of cases), even better! =)

[EDIT]
Changing the list a little to reflect some of the comments and corrections that I've gotten -- and I'm going to cross out the names that have already been transliterated, to make things a little more clear.
