Once in a Blue Moon

In English, the phrase "Once in a blue moon" is used when something happens infrequently.

I recently learned that a similar way to say this is "Ogni morte di papa" (Every death of the Pope) in Italian.

Are there any more colorful expressions that mean something rarely happens?
