Hanzi

Nihao!

I am looking for a list of the most used hanzi in Mandarin. I know such lists exist for Japanese (I believe one was constructed from counting kanji from the Daily Yomiuri...).

I'd like a list of at least several hundred hanzi, preferably with readings.
I'm sure there is some university somewhere who have made something like this, but I sure can't find it!

Dear linguaphiles - will you help me? : )
