A Kiss Around The World
I'm working with someone at Duke University in Durham, NC, and I'm helping her research something for a book to be published next year. The topic of the book is the science of kissing. A portion of the book will discuss the role kissing plays in languages and cultures around the world. Having been given moderator approval, I would like to ask for the help of any willing participants of this community.
The information I'm looking for is the noun and verb for "kiss", as well as any interesting information you could provide regarding any customs, taboos, or roles that kissing plays in your culture. I'd like to get as much help from native speakers as possible. So if you live somewhere outside the US, or you used to, or you know someone living or has lived abroad, any help you could provide would be invaluable.
