Big Ass

I had posted this in another community but I was directed here by someone who though y'all might be able to help a little bit more, so here's my question:

An Italian friend of mine told me recently that, in Italian, when someone is very very lucky they will say that that person "has a big ass", or simply "has an ass" ("c'ha un gran culo", "c'ha culo")

I'm so curious as to how this came about. Has anyone ever heard something like this before? Obviously to an American being said that one has a big ass would be insulting, but I know that generations ago, having a plump behind or just being chubby in general was no doubt a signal of health and wealth and....luck? I have no clue.

Anyone know anything about the origin of this?

  • Polish translation, please

A coworker gave my dad this bottle of vodka (it has grass in it!), and I'm dying to know what the text says. Can anyone help?

  • some Arabic (?) phrases

These are from a novel from Philip Roth. I'm sure the author doesn't speak Arabic, so presumably he had somebody to translate and transliterate…

  • グズグズ meaning

I am having trouble understanding what "グズグズ" means in this sentence: あのグズグズだった頃の俺の心がお前となぁなぁになる事をまだ許していないのは確かだ Could someone explain?
