  • Mood:

July the nth?

So I was passing a hand-drawn sign the other say, which was angled awkwardly and I was driving, which meant that I could see 'Carnival July ----' and missed the date. That was not a problem (I passed the opposite direction this morning, so I could read it), but it occurred to me that I had no way of dealing with this verbally.

In German, if you caught the month but didn't quite catch (or have forgotten) the exact date, you'd use 'am wievielten [Juli]'

Does English have an equivalent phrase? Because try as I might, I can't think of one.
