Maharaja Kimero Transcription
I've been watching Gypsy Caravan, a documentary about several musical groups as they tour the US. At the beginning of the film, the band Maharaja, from Rajasthan, India preforms their song "Kimero."
The first line of the song is translated in the subtitles of the film as "O, Let me not suffer life without beauty." I am working on a poster assignment for a typography class, and I would love to work on this phrase. I don't know if they are singing in Hindi, or Rajasthani, or of the any hundreds of possible dialect -- fortunately Last.fm has the track, so I was wondering if anyone could give it a listen and transcribe that first line out in Devanagari?
Maharaja - Kimero It starts at about :45 ish seconds in.
If all else fails, could somebody translate "O, Let me not suffer life without beauty" into Hindi, and bust out that Devanagari?
As a trade, I would be happy to send along a print quality pdf of the final poster?
Muchas Gracias, Mahalo Nui, and thanks a ton!
