translation of a translation?

I'm trying to read/translate a novel in Chinese...that was originally written in Japanese. I don't know Japanese, so I'm having some trouble with names and places. Can anyone help me with this sentence here?

感觉和以前町内举办的夏日乐园有点像。

昔、町内の子ども会で行った、サマーランドに良く似ている。

I'm pretty sure there's a place in there, and grammatically it should be 町内. Those two characters together don't seem to mean anything in Chinese, but the Japanese dictionary says that it's "neighborhood". Could it just be an error by the first translator?
