Spanglish

I tried to do a little search on spanglish and the results were not really satisfying, therefore i figured that may help me out; Is spanglish defined as a pidgin? Has it advanced to be a creole? Some of the sites i stumbled upon actually said it was neither but a "code-switching-system" but all these different statements lacked  of data and background information.
Can anyone give me an insight into spanglish and what it is, could be and definitely is not?
