Inuit words for snow

I've often heard told that "Eskimos have 100 words for snow," a hyperbole used to describe the Sapir-Whorf idea that people who interact with something often enough will seek to further categorize it in order to be more descriptive.

How many Inuit words are there for snow?

(I apologize if I am using Inuit incorrectly, but I know that Eskimo isn't right either.)
