dachshund

Thank you for all your contributions to my previous post! They're fascinating :) I'm a future ling student (if I get accepted, but I should be) and passionate about language.

My next question is about how everyone pronounces 'dachshund' and where everyone's from. I always used to say either DAWXund or the original German pronunciation, but I've heard DAWSHund and DASH-hound - and likely a few others as well. heh :)

Thanks! :)

edited to add: I'm in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and my mom moved over from Germany at the age of 3, hence the familiarity with the native German pronunciation :)
