Pronunciation of "Silent T" words

Only recently have I noticed how a lot of words in American English that end with the letter T aren't pronounced with a /t/ at the end of the word (maybe it's because I'm a native speaker, and native speakers rarely think linguistically about their own language). Wiktionary cites "lot" as being pronounced /t/, but the T isn't really pronounced. It's still distinguishable from "law," though. How would the words "lot" and "cat" be represented in IPA?
