French dialogue
O Linguaphiles—
How is dialogue properly punctuated/structured in French? I'm writing a creative piece for class and I've been trying to model the dialogue off of the novels I've read, but I can't quite figure out the rhyme and reason behind the punctuation/separation.
If it makes it easier to explain or relate, I'm used to the English dialogue that starts a new paragraph for each different speaker and encloses only what's being said in quotation marks.
Thank you!
