Quick Spanish Question

I'm trying to say "My alarm clock wakes me up."

Would I say, "Mi despertador me despierta."?  I'm pretty sure its right, but I just want to make sure (its for a Spanish project).

Edit: Also, if I want to say swim practice, would I say practica de nadada or practica de natación?
