I'm stumped on a complicated question, but I know it's not that tricky. My Latin education is just getting in the way.
I'm giving The Intellectual Devotional to my boyfriend as a gift. We both speak German, and I want to write in the front something like "May you always be a know-it-all."
I get how optative subjunctive works, but I've only seen it in third person and with God. How would I go about saying something like that? Would I just say "sei immer der Besserwisser?" That sounds strange to me.
Thanks in advance!
