Teaching IPA

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone could point me to studies (if they even exist) in which researchers have attempted to teach IPA to elementary school (K–5) children, preferably in the United States, but it’s fine if the study took place outside of the US. I can also read Spanish, so articles in Spanish journals would be helpful, as well.
