Polish question

Can anybody translate the phrase "grozi mi pała z (czegoś)" for me? My dictionaries aren't being any help. I mean, I know literally what it means, but, like... how would we say that in English?

EDIT: One more idiomatic phrase that my dictionaries aren't helping with. "Bicie piany" - I think it literally means working up a froth, but is it figuratively something like making a big fuss?
