Thai support on iPod touch?

Does anyone here have experience trying to get their iPod Touch (or iPhone) to proplerly display Thai? Mine properly displays Chinese and Japanese, at least, but Thai is apparently too much to ask; all I get is boxes. I don't know if there's anything I can do to add support to it, or if I just have to put up with selecting mystery songs and hoping they're the one I want.

I have one of the first ones--I don't know if that makes a difference. (Also, the song titles are in Unicode, at least I'm pretty sure they are.)
