Why is it that statement that rhyme seem more compelling than statements that don't? For example, "If the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit," sounds a million times more compelling than, "If the glove doesn't fit, you must find OJ not guilty."

ETA: Or maybe it's not the rhyming that does it, it's the pithiness. Just because something is pithy, doesn't make it true, but somehow people seem to believe pithy statements.
