5 year old linguaphile
I have a son who is 5 and has always been very good with his communication skills. Reading and talking are all he seems to be interested in (I mean truly passionate about like only a 5 year old can be)and I want to encourage him! I know that living in America I should be encouraging Spanish, but I thought that if he showed an aptitude for German (which seems a bit closer to English and, PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong, might be easier to learn) we would move on to Spanish. We started out with Muzzy (just a few episodes I found on You Tube) and he's very excited out it, but my Husband tells me that all the Characters speak with a Funny accent and that worries me just a little (my Husband only took German in High School). I was wondering that if Muzzy is supposed to work so well, would German language preschool television shows and songs work too? But where do I find them? I need specific names of things to look for! Please let me know if I'm on the right track with this, and if not, what I should be doing to help my little one become a better educated person!
I would also like for him to learn other European Languages if any of you know a resource I can find on the internet.
