American English Word Lists
I am hoping I can find some help here.
I have a project at work in which we are trying to design some ELD (Early Language Development) Web apps. Right now we're looking for some good word lists as our base. I tried to find some online and I came up dry checking state education sites and came up against copyright issues at other sites.
Here is a general example:
http://www.manythings.org/vocabulary/lists/c/
It says there that their work is copyrighted so using it in a business context isn't safe.
Do any of you know where I could find word lists safe for reuse? If they are used by a respected source (state education board) it would be a bonus but just a plethora of ones free for reuse is great.
