Fandom in Spanish

Hi!
I'm trying to translate this essay into Spanish and I'm having trouble with some terms... I know some people around here are in fandom or aware of its existence so I thought I would ask since dictionaries and such are not very useful for language this specialized.

I'm having trouble with the following terms, i know what they mean but I can't think of a good translation: Wank, shipping, filk, authoring, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (Which of the ones mentioned in the wikipedia article is the one commonly used in Spanish?), fandom bends gender (rompe generos?).

Also, do you think it's ok to translate "male" and "female" as "hombre" and "mujer"? I don't think "masculino/femenino" have the same connotations in Spanish.

Thanks in advance,
Evalangui.
