describing a short attention span

Having an essay outline to write and feeling rather inclined towards procrastination, I was wondering what comparisons are used to describe someone having a short attention span. So far I've found "the attention span of a gnat", "the attention span of a goldfish", and "the attention span of a fly". What do you say?

Personally, I've always used "the attention span of a flea", but googling it came up with significantly fewer hits than I expected. I'm a native speaker of Australian English, by the way, but lately I've been finding myself forgetting and/or mixing-up my English expressions.
