Right now I am very interested in learning ASL, and would like to take a course on it at a local college come September. The course is "costly" for my student budget, but I think $185 is worth it. I've been interested in learning it for several years, but have never taken the time to sit down, learn the grammar, etc.
Eventually, after I've finished up university, I'd like to teach math at a highschool, or college level. I think that knowing ASL could be good resumé material in that sense, but I can't see many other ways of pragmatically justifying this to myself.
What are your thoughts on the matter?
