"cocone"?

There's a mysterious anorexic/deathly thin girl who walks around my town. She is about 16 or 17, I'd say; I recently saw her with her mother and they were speaking what sounded like some Slavic-sounding language -- I know it wasn't Russian nor Polish. Anyway, this girl is very noticable, I see her EVERYWHERE, and I became very curious when I spotted a tattoo on her back. It was a mostly-blank crossword puzzle, with only one word filled in: cocone. I'm about 90% confident that those were the letters and the proper order.

Given the potential for misspelling and/or transversing the order of letters, Google hasn't been much of a help. Any ideas of where this word comes from, and what it might mean?
