I keep forgetting this word!!

What is the word that can be used to describe the shape of the numbers 6 or 9?

EDIT: Trust me guys, there IS a word that describes this shape when it is not used as a numeral. Not a description word, but perhaps a noun. It may not be English, I don't remember.

I first encountered this word as a small child when watching the TV show "Blossom". Blossom's friend was drawing something, and they were arguing about whether or not the shapes she was drawing were numbers or *insert word here*.
