vocab books

I'm looking for a good book for vocabulary building. Something that sorts by category, and has examples of usage, it can be exercise-oriented or not, just reference-style is okay if put together well. Books like the following. Does anyone have any experience with these?

Mastering German Vocabulary (I'm familiar with the Spanish version)
Berlitz German Vocabulary Handbook
Easy Ways to Enlarge Your German Vocabulary
Schaum's Outline of German Vocabulary

If you've used similar vocabulary books for any language even that's not German please share your experiences with me. As far as German goes, I definitely need a book that gives the plural with every noun. Thanks for any advice you have!
