Moi: Sardonica

A "how do you say" post.

And this is also a tattoo post.

A friend's father wants to get "Be the change you want to see in the world" in Sanskrit as a tattoo. Does anyone here have an idea how to say that naturally in Sanskrit? He figured that because Gandhi was Indian that there must be a Sanskrit version of his quote. I'd really appreciate it if anyone had an idea of how to write it, or, if not, some possible resources for the answers. :)

I apologise if my sentences are strange. English is not my first language. :)

Thank you.

English help

I'm (still) reading 'Blaze' by Stephen King and need a bit of help :) I'm not sure about two phrases, but I'll type up the whole paragraph, in case context is needed.

'In the best of the short con heart-stoppers, George dressed up in clothes he called 'a little past sharp' and then toured some Boston bars he knew about. These weren't gay bars and they weren't straight bars. George called them 'gray bars'. And the mark always picked George up. George never had to make a move.'

I bolded the phrases I need help with, especially the second one, as I have no idea what 'the mark' means in that case, hm. Thanks for any suggestions :)

The verb ignorer?

So I was watching Star Trek with French subtitles the other day (ah, the joys of bad speakers) when I noticed something interesting: every time Spock said something to the effect of "I don't know," it was translated as "Je l'ignore" instead of "Je ne sais pas." I ran this past my French teacher mother. We finally decided that it made some sense because Spock speaks at a very high level and ignorer can be used in that way even if it's not the most common phrase for it.

However, later on I realized that they were using "Je l'ignore" for other characters who don't speak at the same level or with the same precision that Spock does. This pretty much ruins our theory, and I can't come up with any other possible reasons for it. Anyone have any thoughts?
