wtf? | me from danicia

Noch einmal

Once more, if you'd be so kind. I can't for the life of me figure out what "beeinflussen" is doing in this sentence (the italicized part is the problem):

Jemand? Bitte?

And may I just say, HOW EXCITING A LIFE IT IS BEING A TRANSLATOR!

except when translating a tax-form-filling guide!

ETA: Answered, thank you.

Chinese Translation

How well did I translate the following text?

School began today, the three months at the village felt like a dream, and I have returned to this school in the woods. When m mother sent me to school in the morning, my heart still longed to be in the village's circumstances; all the streets, without exception, were filled with students. Students' fathers and older brothers crowded the bookstore's entrance to buy notebooks, and school and police officers went all out as if they wanted to control the streets.

Australian Slang

I've got an American Main Character in a novel I'm working on playing Scrabble with her male friend. I need two words that both roughly mean 'idiot' that can be defined by each other, but she would not be familiar with.

Both are seventeen, around 2002.

Any other fun Australian words he could throw in would be helpful as well!
