French resources

I went back through the last 100 posts with the "french" tag and didn't find much to answer this, so here is a question that might have been asked before.

I just linked someone to http://www.dw.de/ (a website from a German radio/TV station with an extensive section for interactive German learning). That got me thinking about picking up my French again, and wondering if there are similar resources for learning French. Through Google, I found Radio France, as well as TV5, both of which have such sections on their websites, plus a multitude of others. Are there any such sites you can personally recommend from experience, or from a French speaker's point of view?

At the moment, I'd prefer sites that have the option to switch my interface and perhaps some of the explanatory parts to German. My French is extremely rusty, and I don't know any internet-navigation related French vocabulary, which I know doesn't have as many English loan words as German does. An English-language interface would work, too, but I think it would be easier to learn from my native language rather than another foreign one.

I'd prefer sites that cover a variety of aspects, not just basic ones, as I'm not a beginner in French. I had it in school for seven years, and I was rather good at it at the time, so I don't need the whole "Bonjour, je m'appelle lied_ohne_worte, et je voudrais un croissant, s'il vous plaît" part. However, I never obtained true fluency, such as being able to read French books without constantly needing to look things up. Right now, in any case, I need to remind myself of many things before learning new ones, as I haven't done anything with the language in twelve years. As I was able to push my English to a near-native level by exposure to media, I'd like to see if I can do anything about my French.
