phrase from across the pond

Even though American and British English are both English they've evolved plenty of different slang and phrases. In general, how familiar do you suppose Americans are with British slang and/or phrases, and in particular, how well known do you think the phrase "lie back and think of England" is? Are there any other phrases that you can think of that are very British that Americans might not have heard of?

(I'm not asking the opposite way because with the proliferation of American movies/TV, presumably in Britain they're pretty familiar with American slang/phrases.)
